Edge of the Universe
(English version of the planetarium show "Augen im All")
Fulldome-Videoshow
In 2009 four hundred years after Galileo's revolutionary discoveries, two sophisticated scientific satellites were launched into the Universe. These complex space telescopes will look deep into space at very distant events that our eyes cannot see. They will observe the birth of stars and planets and look back to the very beginning of time. We get informed about recent scientific theories concerning the "Big Bang". Finally we have a look at the coming ESA-robot-mission on our neighbouring planet Mars. "Edge of the Universe" brings the secrets of the distant cosmos direct to the audience.
The planetarium show was created using the latest technology for full dome and analogue planetaria. It was shot on location at the European Space Agency's Main Control Room in Darmstadt (ESOC), Germany, featuring highly sophisticated 4K animated graphics and detailed scenes never before seen on a planetarium dome. It was produced with professional actors and a 'Red-One' digital camera and sets a new benchmark for cutting-edge edu-tainment.
"Edge of the Universe" is co-produced by leading European planetaria and the European Space Agency (ESA).The fulldome-show is an exciting and imaginative celebration of science and discovery.
